Meet Our Staff
EDWIN PENG, M.D., MBA.Medical Director, Riverside Center for Behavioral Medicine As medical director for RCBM, Dr. Peng provides leadership to the staff in our clinical approach and monitors the quality of care delivered to the patients we serve. Inherent in this role is maintaining the highest standards in evidenced based medicine at RCBM while providing an open environment for the use of spirituality and interpersonal relationships in the healing process. The breadth of Dr. Peng’s clinical experiences include working in a dedicated psychiatric emergency room, locked and voluntary inpatient units, outpatient programs of varying acuity and more recent trends towards field based programs. Dr. Peng is a graduate of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed his residency in Psychiatry at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He went on to complete a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from the LAC+USC Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has held many other positions in clinical and leadership roles such as serving on the Medical Advisory Board of Pacific Clinics and as Medical Director for Portals, a non-profit organization in the heart of Los Angeles. He completed a Masters in Business Administration from UCLA with a particular interest in operational processes and organizational dynamics. |
ROBERT SUMMEROUR, M.D. Dr. Summerour is the founder of both Riverside Center for Behavioral Medicine and Riverside Psychiatric Medical Group. He completed Medical School and his Residency at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. |
| MUKUND V. DESHMUKH, M.D. Dr. Deshmukh completed Medical School at Bombay University in Bombay, India. His residency was in Psychiatry at the University of California, Irvine. |
| MICHAEL BISHARA, M.D. Dr. Bishara completed his internship at New York University and his residency training in Internal Medicine at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is an ASAM Certified Addictionist. |
| JULIE WAREHAM, M.D. Dr. Wareham received her undergraduate degree in Biology at Columbia Union College, Takoma Park, Maryland her medical school education at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Loma Linda, CA. She completed her residency training at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda Jerry Pettis VA Hospital, and Patton State Hospital. Dr. Wareham has been an administrator for Partial Hospitalization programs and has acted as a consultant and liaison to area hospitals. Having spent the last 13 years serving as a community Psychiatrist, she has gained valuable expertise in mental health and chemical dependency treatment. Dr. Wareham is most known for her compassionate memorable patient care. |
| SAMI SOLIMAN, M.D. Dr. Soliman completed medical school in Cairo, Egypt at the University of Egypt and his residency at Mercy hospital in Chicago. He moved to California in 1991 where he has been practicing at a university hospital. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. |
| MAHER ROMAN, M.D. Dr. Roman completed medical school in Cairo, Egypt at the University of Egypt and his residency at Loma Linda University. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. |
| XIAOYING CUI, M.D. Xioyin Cui attended medical school at Jilin Medical College in Jilin City, China. She completed her psychiatry residency and fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. She is Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She also has a Subspecialty Board Certification in Geriatric Psychiatry. |
