Riverside Center for Behavioral Medicine has specially trained staff experienced in using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) psychotherapy treatment. EMDR is a form of psychotherapy that was developed to resolve symptoms resulting from disturbing and unresolved life experiences. EMDR is a clinically researched and tested method. Its applications are many; it is being successfully used to treat PTSD, anxiety/mood disorders, and a variety of traumatic events such as rape, childhood physical/sexual abuse, complicated grieving and a myriad of other disorders. Due to its specialization, patients requesting EMDR will be screened to determine the appropriateness for treatment.
